Smoo Cave, Durness, Scotland
Visited July 12, 2023
Our Rabbie's Tour Guide dropped us off near the public toilet car park for Smoo Cave. Smoo Cave, Durness, Sutherland, IV27 4QB
We had 30 minutes for this visit and I was able to make use of the public toilet and walk the steps down to the cave and back around within that time span. Visiting the cave is free. Tours for a fee are available.
Restroom facilities were available at the public toilets.
I only saw dogs on the trail above the cave. I did not notice any signs regarding dogs.
I did not count the steps or the miles. But this was a beautiful place and a lovely surprise from our tour guide.
I wore my rain jacket and hat because the weather had been very changeable that week. It did not rain during the half hour I was there.
The trail was clear to see so there was no chance of getting lost.
Parking: There is limited parking available.
There was very little trash along the trails.
I did not notice mosquitos as a problem at this site.
I would not recommend this place for strollers due to the numbers of steps to navigate.
I saw a variety of wildflowers.
