The trail has a natural surface interrupted by occasional wooden bridges.

I walked, well...meandered was a more accurate word, for 1.3 miles on natural trails; the trails were more dry than I would expect this time of year.  I enjoyed this beautiful trail and would love to see it in spring and summer if time allows.

The trail was well marked and maintained.  There were a few small trees and branches in the trail from recent wind storms.  The trail was mostly flat.  There were sections that were single file and some sections that were wide enough for my friend, Stacy, and I to walk side by side.  There were a few songbirds singing and we could hear the water in the creek.  There were many deer hoof prints on the trail.

I did pick up a tick on this walk.  With the heavy deer use this area shows, I meant to do a tick check when I arrived back at the car.  I keep a tape lint roller in the car for this.  Since we had such a mile winter, I should make this a habit when I return to the car from a walk or hike.

I would not recommend a stroller or wheelchair for this hike.

My friend and I had the trail to ourselves.

I did not see any trash while on this trail.

No mosquitos today.

I saw river birch, hemlock, pine, oak, maple, milkweed, teasel, skunk cabbage, goldenrod, ferns, cat tails, and numerous apple trees.
